So as you all might not know I am doing the GED program right now. I would have graduated with a diploma if I hadn't chosen to home-school virtually for my twelfth grade year. So yes I am seventeen getting my GED degree. Anyhow this is not what the post is about. Instead I am talking about a boy. For the past week I have been almost hopeless of finding anyone that isn't a complete idiot in these classes. I don't even mean at the intellectual level, I am referring to social ineptitude. It wasn't until one very adorable gentleman waltzed into my ABE Math class.
I do know his name but for privacy and embarrassment sake we will call this boy Jerry. Jerry seemed to stand at around five foot eight or so, he wasn't extraordinarily tall, he was also slightly bulky, but not in a chubby rolly polly way, but in a shorter guy who works out a bit way. His skin was really tanned naturally and by the way he seemed to talk and based on his name I would have guessed that he was atleast part Hawaiian. I ended up having an excuse to sit next to him as my friend, we shall call her, Jenny, was sitting at a seat that was one over from him. SO WOO, for me. Atleast so I thought. I moved my way in there, made a few jokes, and did all the things most people do when trying to get to know a person. He was perfect, he was even planning on going into the same Vocational program as I was. I thought I had everything sold, that was until he noticed a very blonde, very chest set girl at the computer behind him.
I had lost the battle of love quite fast after that I realized. Despite meeting the final task of giving him my number I knew that I would never receive a text or call as this girl was the stereotypical cheerleader body that all guys want while I'm skinny and child like in appearance. It certainly didn't help she was giving him the cute eye and smile that all the boys love. So there I was trying not to make a complete idiot of myself. I have a feeling that they'll get along great seeing how much they were talking after they left class. Which is depressing for me as I am back to square one of male window shopping. There are not many to choose from sadly. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. I admit I am no damsel in distress and am not overly desperate for a male or female companion but it would be nice to have some attractive male talk to me in class. As I've never had any good looking young fella pay attention to me except over the internet and that's just not the same thing.
